NO PURCHASE OR GAS ENROLLMENT NECESSARY. A PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. Sweepstakes is open to anyone 21 years and older residing in the state of Ohio or Michigan at the time of entry. To enter by mail, send in a postcard with your name, address, phone number, and email address to the address shown below. One entry per household only. New gas customers may auto-register with online enrollment at volunteerenergy.com or by calling 1-877-897-1988. Grand Prize Winner will receive $10,000.00. Contest starts at midnight on March 15, 2013. All entries must be received by August 31, 2013. Winners will be selected in a random drawing on or about September 15, 2013 under the supervision of Sponsors. Odds of winning depend on the total number of entries received. Two winners will receive their gas bills paid for 12 months (max $1000.00 each). Other prizes include Apple iPad mini (2), $100 VISA™ gift cards (10). All taxes on prizes are the responsibility of winners. Winners will be notified by e-mail or phone on or about September 30, 2013. Acceptance of a prize constitutes winners’ permission to use their names, likenesses, cities and states, and to be photographed for advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation except where prohibited by law. All entries become the property of Volunteer Energy, and will not be returned or acknowledged, except those that include gas enrollment, which will be notified as required by state regulation. Participating entrants agree to these rules and the decisions of Volunteer Energy, which are final and binding and release the Judges and Volunteer Energy and their respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, and all other businesses involved in this sweepstakes, as well as the employees, officers, directors and agents of each, from all claims and liability relating to their participation, acceptance, use, and or redemption of prize. Winners assume all liability for any injury or damage caused or claimed to be caused, by participation in this sweepstakes or acceptance, use or redemption of any prize.
Volunteer Energy is not responsible for any printing, production, typographical, human or other error of any nature in printing of the sweepstakes mailer, entry form or prize notice, or in the administration of the sweepstakes or announcement of the prizes either online or offline. Any sweepstakes notice, entry form or prize notice containing a printing, production, typographical, human or other error of any nature shall be deemed null and void. No responsibility assumed for lost, late, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, mutilated/postage due or mechanically reproduced entry forms, or entry forms that have been tampered with or not obtained through legitimate channels, all of which will be disqualified. Liability for an irregular entry form, prize notice or sweepstakes notice shall be limited to replacement with another. Volunteer Energy shall always have the right to take such other measures as it deems necessary or appropriate in its sole discretion to preserve the integrity of the Sweepstakes. In no event shall Volunteer Energy have any liability or obligation to award more than the prize(s) offered in conjunction with this Sweepstakes.
A winner may be required (at judges’ discretion) to sign & return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release, & where legally permissible, a Publicity Release within 10 days of date on notification. Failure to execute and return any required documentation within the time period specified and/or return of any prize notification or prize as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Costs for goods or services not specified are winner’s responsibility. No substitution of prizes except by Volunteer Energy due to unavailability. Except where prohibited by law, winners consent to use of their names, hometowns, prizes won & likenesses for promotional purposes on behalf of Volunteer Energy and its designee(s) without additional compensation. Void where prohibited by law. All federal, state, & local laws & regulations apply. Prize values are awarded in U.S. currency. No transfer or assignment of prize permitted except to a surviving spouse. Winners are responsible for all taxes on prizes. U.S. laws govern all aspects of this sweepstakes. All disputes and claims arising out of or relating to this Sweepstakes shall be determined according to the laws of the State of Ohio without regard to its conflict of law principles and all participating entrants consent to the personal jurisdiction of the federal and state courts located in Franklin County and agree that such courts have exclusive jurisdiction over all such disputes. All causes of action arising out of or in connection with this sweepstakes shall be resolved individually without resort to any form of class action litigation and any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out of pocket expenses incurred.
Volunteer Energy is not liable for payment of any prize to entrants who have violated these official rules. Winners acknowledge that the Judges, Volunteer Energy and all other businesses concerned with this sweepstakes and their agents do not make, nor are in any manner responsible for any warranty or representations, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the quality, conditions, fitness or merchantability of any aspect of any merchandise prize except that such prize shall be subject to manufacturer’s standard warranty.
Winner selections will be drawn at VESI corporate headquarters located in Pickerington, Ohio. Volunteer Energy reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the promotion if it becomes technically corrupted. In such event, prizes will be awarded (if applicable) from eligible entries received prior to this date of termination. Employees of Volunteer Energy Services, Inc., their respective advertising & promotion agencies & any other person or organization directly involved with the promotion and their respective immediate families and/or household members of such employees are ineligible.
