Pennsylvania Energy Choice
Deregulation of energy was initiated to allow consumers, businesses and industries the ability to choose their energy supplier and remain competitive, while bringing jobs and economic development to the state. In June 1999, the Natural Gas Choice and Competition Act was signed into law in Pennsylvania allowing all customers, even residential and small business customers, to choose who supplies their natural gas. According to the Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission (PPUC), approximately 415,000 of the 2.8 million natural gas customers in Pennsylvania currently participate in the Energy Choice Program. By giving consumers the ability to choose natural gas supplier, competition opens up a greater variety of pricing plans and gives the customer the power to choose the supplier and rate option that are best for their home or business.
Energy Rate Plan Options for Customers
Volunteer Energy offers residential and business customers in Pennsylvania competitive natural gas prices. We currently offer energy choice to customers in the Peoples Natural Gas, Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, and PECO Energy market areas. Our goal is to help you control your energy costs by providing rate plan options. Our variable rate plan is historically our best performing rate plan option. We also offer a Guaranteed Savings plan (priced below the utility Adder each month), and a fixed rate plan for cost protection and security. The availability of these rate plan options may vary monthly as we strive to always offer our most competitive pricing.
