Volunteer Energy Announces Enhanced Sponsorship with Detroit Lions
Pickerington, OH, September 9, 2015: Volunteer Energy (VE), a leading Midwest natural gas and electricity supplier, will once again be teaming up with the Detroit Lions. The company announces a three-year partnership extension with the Lions which includes greater fan engagement activities for the estimated 65,000 fans per game in Ford Field.
“Lions fans are among the most passionate in the NFL,” said Jerry Haines, Director of Marketing for Volunteer Energy. “Our partnership focuses on new ways to energize and excite them.”
One new fan engagement will be the launch of the Volunteer Energy Team, a high energy pep squad that will become a prominent part of fan interactions at all home games. In addition, Volunteer Energy will be the presenting sponsor of the Roar Meter. As an established fan favorite, the Roar Meter appears on stadium video boards during key defensive stands and generates the kind of noise that makes Ford Field one of the loudest stadiums in the league.
“The energy from our fans at Ford Field on game days is crucial to the overall experience, both on and off the field,” said Senior Vice President of Marketing and Partnerships Elizabeth Parkinson. “Our fan engagement is undoubtedly tied to providing a home field advantage and the addition of the Volunteer Energy Team should heighten our ability to ‘Defend the Den.’”
Another new VE sponsored element will be a one-of-a-kind VIP Game Experience sweepstakes, whereby one lucky fan will win an unforgettable Lions game day package. The winner will receive game tickets, sideline passes, Lion’s gear, and a night’s stay in the Westin Book Cadillac. The sweepstakes will be promoted in-stadium and on all Lions digital properties.
